‘Sunrise, Sunset’ is my exploration of the time it takes for a day to unfold. More recently, I saw the sensational sunsets setting on the Gulf of Mexico. I stopped to look at this miracle everyday and realized that I was taking stock of the day and noting its end. Since this experience, I find purpose in every moment of each day. Two Years ago my father lost his long fight with Leukemia. In his last
years, I felt the need to express my feelings through my art. These Monoprints
with Hand Printed Collage and Drawing deal with each of his days as they
began to envelop and wash over my own days. For a long time, I felt that
my own life consisted of days and nights running into each other without
a pause. Hospitals, tests, poor results and the sleepless nights spent
worrying about all of the things I could not fix or change. I now understand
what it means to seize the day-to make each day important and purposeful.
